As some of you know, my brother David Shaughnessy and I formed a production company for development of projects scripted and non-scripted, documentary and in digital media. We are so excited about our tent pole show that we wanted to introduce you to it here on my website! This show will be a reality/drama series about the elite Red Shift of the Los Angeles Fire Department Air Operations Helicopter crews. We are thrilled to be presenting this show in cooperation with the LAFD and as such, will have exclusive inside access. You will witness this fearless crew in action as they attack brush fires, make daring swift-water rescues and evacuate victims from the roof of a burning building. You will learn what goes on behind the scenes by getting to know the life stories of these extraordinary and courageous helicopter pilots, paramedics and helitac crews; these firemen, that put their lives on the line, without hesitation, every day. When we say we are showing you what happens in the heart of a fire or a flood, we are REALLY there. With cameras on helicopters, in the thick of it. This is not like a TV show or movie where they are creating the fire through the magic of special effects and computers. These are not actors portraying heroes; these ARE our real life heroes doing what they do day in and day out without question. The Red Shift crew and everything about this show, is the real deal. You never know what is going to happen next, because there is no script. THIS is the true drama of reality. This is reality TV at its most exciting! Did you know that an LAFD Air Ops Helicopter can accurately deliver 350 gallons of water in one drop to an otherwise inaccessible or difficult to reach fire area? You will be there from lift off to water drop and even see how they refill the helicopter with water so that they can go back into the fire! There is an accident on the freeway. The traffic is snarled, a seriously injured child needs to be lifted out and transported to Childrens Hospital 25 miles away and time is of the essence. Watch as the LAFD Helicopter, this time fitted as an air ambulance, lands on the freeway to rescue and transport the child to the hospital. Go with the LAFD Air Ops crew as they fly to a burning building. You will be right there as the helicopter hovers in place above the building, lowering a crew member down via the helicopter's hoist system where you will see how they secure then lift the people they are rescuing into the aircraft and transport them to safety. You will be there along for the ride and to see these amazing kinds of rescues! These are the true stories behind the lives, behind the scenes of the Red Shift of the LAFD Air Operations Helicopter crew. Not only will you be able to witness them in action but you will have firsthand access to how their chosen profession affects their families and the families of those that have been touched by these heroic men and be able to see what goes into being a member of this elite Red Shift team. As with all TV shows, there will of course be an associated interactive website on the Internet where you will be able to discuss the show with other viewers from all around the world, have information available about the show and the people behind the show, ask questions, get answers and many other exclusives. You will have access where no one has had access before with the Red Shift crew at their airport and at their station, their "homes away from home." We have prepared a short video clip to give you an idea of what is to come, and are looking forward to hearing your reactions to it. To watch the exclusive QuickTime video, just click on the play button in the movie viewer as instructed below. This is the high resolution 32 MB version. If you have a slower connection to the Internet, you can click here to watch the 13 MB lower resolution version. We are terribly excited and honored to be able to present a series that gives you the reality and the drama of the lives of this remarkable brave team - The Red Shift of the Los Angeles Fire Department Air Operations Helicopter crew.
We hope you enjoy it! Looking forward to hearing from you, Charlie and David Shaughnessy
