On Thursday 10 April and Friday, 11 April, 2003, Charlie and Jessica D. Stone, the voices of Dennis and Stanley, on the Disney Channel series "Stanley", participated in Disney's California Adventure's official opening of the new "Playhouse Disney - Live on Stage!" show.

Located in the heart of the Hollywood Studios Backlot in Disneyıs California Adventure, "Playhouse Disney - Live on Stage!" beckons little ones with its bright whimsical exterior offering just a hint of what awaits them inside. Targeting children two- to six-years-old, the delightful 21-minute interactive musical extravaganza invites children and adults alike to dance, twirl, sing and learn with a host of character favorites straight from Disney Channel's Playhouse Disney programming block. "The show gives kids an opportunity to get up close and experience the very characters, songs and stories theyıve been watching for most of their lives," says John Addis, Disneyland Resort Entertainment maintenance show director.

The show begins as human host Jamie introduces a series of segments featuring the beloved Playhouse Disney characters "live" and up close. Bear from Jim Hensonıs Bear in the Big Blue House İ kicks off the fun with a little help from his friends Tutter, Treelo, Ojo, and Pip and Pop. They welcome everyone with the "Hello Song" and perform Bearıs popular "Bear Cha-Cha-Cha." Then Tutter the mouse suffers an unfortunate bout of stage fright and the whole gang embarks on a friendly quest to help him. A giant book is consulted for the endeavor, serving to introduce three more fun-filled segments featuring Playhouse Disney favorites:

* William Joyce's Rolie Polie Olie - Olie, Zowie and Billy lead the audience in the familiar song "The Twirl," encouraging everyone to twirl along. A cascade of bubbles accompanies the action, promising a roomful of jumps, pops and giggles.

* Stanley - When Stanley decides he doesn't want to brush his teeth and comb his hair at bedtime, he refers to the Great Big Book of Everything. He's inspired by a gorilla's grooming habits and decides to oblige his parents after all. "Parents can relate to the challenges of bedtime," says Addis. "Stanley's story is sure to make them happy."

* The Book of Pooh (inspired by A.A. Milne's classic childrenıs tales) - Pooh, Tigger, Piglet and Eeyore ponder the perfect day, singing "We Like the Things We Like." Tigger adds zest to the melody - as only Tiggers can do - by bouncing. Soon, he has the whole audience bouncing with him. Piglet caps off the story with a sweet sentiment of friendship and how that alone makes a perfect day.

Bear returns to the stage to find that everyone's efforts have proven successful and Tutter feels brave again. The cast from Bear in the Big Blue House celebrates with an Otter Rap from Pip and Pop. The show's finale features Luna, a giant moon familiar to children worldwide, and a group sing-along of "The Goodbye Song."

Charlie and Jessica attended the live show, met the performers backstage and then enjoyed the park with their families. On the second day, they met with 18 different radio stations that were in the park to cover the opening of the show and in their character voices of Dennis and Stanley, interviewed about the grand opening of Playhouse Disney Live on Stage!
